We kept Madison and Jonathon Saturday for five or six hours. So sence it was so hot here we decided to take them and Mammaw, to the Mnts. for a picnic. We took a cooler full of ice and water, and stopped at Bojangle's, and bought a 12 piece tailgate dinner. It had 12 pieces of chicken, 6 biscuits, 3 large fixens, and a half gal. of their good tea. For dessert we got 6 of their booberry biscuits, then we found a secluded picnic table, with lots of shade that Mammaw could get to easy. Now you talk about pigging out, we really did, and howdy boy was it ever good! Then we road some backroads we had never been on before, we saw very pretty country, beautiful valleys, pretty old churches, I made some photos of some of them, we came out in Banerelk after about an hour then we went down the Old Shulls Mill Rd, and took Mammaw up the Old Turnpike Rd. That's what is left of the first road that went from Lenoir to Boone, They use to have to go up it to go back to Tenn. to visit Mammaw Potter. She really enjoyed getting to ride on it again, then it was back to Blowing Rock and down the Mnt. to home . It was a very nice evening, and we all had a lot of fun we just wish you all could have been with us. That's enough for tonight, I'll write again latter. Love to all Jakrson!

We've been lucky to some have rain almost every day for the last couple of weeks now. The gardens and flowers are growing by leaps and bounds, of course the weeds are too. But they'er not too bad to deal with. Our family had a most wonderful, and much needed gathering last Saturday. We all had a lot of fun talking and laughing about everything and nothing. We decided to get togather twice a year, that will be so good for all of us. Now you all go out and have a marvelous day, and don't let nothing keep you from it! Jakrson

They have the car'bon diox'ide about down to normal, and the fluid about out of her lungs. They have her sitting up in a chair a little longer each day. Thanks for all of your prayers. Good evening one and all, we arrived back home last evening at 8:35. A wonderful time was had by one and all! I should start at the begining, Honey and I left our house at 4:30 Friday morning. We got over to Charles and Karen's at 4:55, while we waited for Junior and Sharon, & their girls we drank another cup of coffee. They got there about 5:15, then we loaded Karen's van with all it would hold. Then we managed to get the rest in our car, but they were both crammed full to the hilt. We did manage to get on the way by 5:30, which was the plan. The traffic was light all the way, that was very nice. Sharon drove Karen's van with all the women and girls in it. I drove our car with Charles, Junior, and me in it, that worked out really well. Our first stop was in Salisbury, for breakfast. Next we had a bathroom stop in Wadesboro, then in Rockingham. When we hit highway 74 the speed limit was 65 & 70 MPH., so we were able to make it on to Whiteville, for our last pit stop. We had a detour on 179 on the way to Sunset, where they were building a new bridge. So it was 11:45 when we got to our house, it was a two story house. There was two bedrooms, a kitchen livingroom and a full bath downstaires for Junior, Sharon, Abbey, and Emma. Then there was three big bedrooms, two full baths, large kitchen and livingroom upstaires, plus a large screened in porch on both levels, with plenty of chairs, and rocking chairs on both of them. The first evening Junior and Charles took the girls to the beach, Abbey loved getting the water and waves, but Emma was scared to death of the waves especialy, so Charles brought her back in about 15 mins. The next morning Emma wanted to go back to the beach with them, so they took her again but had to bring her right back to the house. Later that evening when it started to cool bown a little, I took the girls back to the beach by my self. I slowly helped Emma to walk out to her knees while I held her hand, she got use to the little waves. Then she asked me to pick her up and go out further, I gradually went on out until the waves were coming up above my waist and onto her bottom, and legs. She had a great time, then as it was starting to get dusky, Junior, Sharon, Honey, Karen and Charles came out onto the pier and all of them took pictures of her. We went up on the pier too and everyone bragged to her what a big girl she was. We had so much food that it was a sin, but we were happy. Andy and Cindy came down about 3:30 Saturday and had a wonderful supper with them. Everyone walked on the beach after supper, we talked and laughed and had a big ole time. We tried to get them to stay in our extra room but they had to go home, they left about 9:00. Sunday morning we held our own church services on the front porch, that was very nice. There wasn't any rain all weekend. But Monday morning it was sprinkling when we got up, when the sun came up there was a beautiful rainbow, we got to take some pictures of it before it stoped raining. After breakfast we got all packed-up, and the car and van loaded, then we cleaned the house up and all of us went up on the roof deck and took pictures of everyone with the pier and waves in the background. Then we all told the ocean and beach good bye, and just did get our keys turned in on time. First we went to Calabash, to Chalahands to look and shop a little. Then we went Captain Nancey's to eat fish. We stoped at a gas station to fill-up with Push-water, and lit out for hame at 1:15, we ran into some showers on the way. But they weren't hard enough to slow us down. We ate at a Chic-fillet, in Wadesborogh on the way home. A good time was had by all. Thank You Lord for a safe trip, and a wonderful weekend! Jakrson

Well it's just one more day until we leave to go go Sunset, I can hardly wait, YEP-EEEE!!!! We'er going to leave at 5:00 tomorrow morning. The women and children are going to ride in Charles & Karen's van. and the men are going to ride in Gladys' car. The van has a DVD player in it for the girls to watch movies on. We will probally have a good time on the trip down there. We should get there by 11:00 or 11:30, after stoping 8 or 10 times to use the bathroom, HA! HA! I need to get up and start helping Honey get things packed- up. I'll write and tell you about our trip after we get back next week. Jakrson

This morning Sharon and Emma came to visit us. Today is Emma's fourth birthday, thats hard to believe isn't it? Last weekend she found her mammaw Sherrill's scisors, and cut her pretty red hair. Sharon had to take her to her hair dresser and get her a new hair style. It is short but looks good on her. They ate lunch with us and mammaw Hattie, as Emma says. I played outside with her for an hour or two, we had a great time. She had to go to the bottom of the hill to see Nugget the cat, and George, the peacock. Then we went to the neighbors that raises golden labs. to sell. And see their 31 new puppies, how cute they are. After lunch I went up to see Grandmother, she is doing good and is still happy at Lenoir Healthcare Center. All she ever wants is choclate candy, and sometimes she has me bring her a bologna sandwich, or some crackers with lots of peanut butter in them. Last week she asked me to bring her some fryed chicken wings, from KFC. It dosen't take much to keep her happy! She loves to recieve cards and short notes from people. I stayed about two hours with her, we talked and had a good visit. I hope that all of you are feeling well, and have a good nights sleep. I'll write again later. Jakrson
